Valora
Valora is a property heatmap for US metros. Each ZIP is colored by typical home value or rent from Zillow ZHVI / ZORI, so you can see which parts of a metro run expensive or cheap without opening a spreadsheet of ZIP codes.
Valora ↗- Customer: Someone comparing home values or rents across a metro ZIP by ZIP.
- Problem: A table of ZIPs does not show where the expensive band sits on the map.
- Solution: A ZIP heatmap for a metro, colored by typical home value or rent, with map or satellite.
- Outcome: You can jump metros, switch home value or rent, and read the color key on the side.
- Strategic win: The map and the color key use the same ZHVI / ZORI field for the day shown.
The prices were in a sheet. The pattern was not.
Agents, investors, and analysts can list ZIP values and still not see the expensive band on a map. Valora paints the ZIPs so the pattern is the first thing you see.
Why it was hard
A sorted sheet of ZIP prices still does not show which side of the metro is hot. The eye needs the map, and the map needs a key that matches the day of the data.
- City boundaries hide ZIP edges
- Home value and rent are different stories on the same map
- A color scale without a min and max is just decoration
- Jumping metros should not force a new spreadsheet each time
What you get
- ✓ZIP polygons colored yellow to red as the metric rises
- ✓Home value or rent as the visible field
- ✓Quick metros such as New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Houston, Miami, Seattle, Austin, Denver
- ✓Near or metro focus, map or satellite basemap
- ✓Color key with the low and high of what is on screen
Pick a metro
Search a metro or tap a quick city. The map loads ZIP shapes for that area and colors them by the metric you chose.
Open Valora →Home value or rent
Home value uses typical ZHVI. Rent switches the same ZIP layer. The color key updates with the low and high you can see.
See the heatmap →Read the field
The side panel names the visible field, the date, and how many ZIPs are in view. Map or satellite is only the basemap; the ZIP colors stay the story.
Property data work →See which ZIPs run hot before you open the sheet.
Valora colors US metro ZIPs by typical home value or rent so the expensive band is on the map, not buried in a column.
Valora is a portfolio sample of the property heatmap interfaces we build. Sample screens use metros and dates already loaded on the demo board.
