BigiByte builds tools that collect and act on data at scale. This Acceptable Use Policy sets out the kinds of projects and uses we do not support, so our work stays lawful and responsible. It applies to everyone who uses our website, services or deliverables, and forms part of our Terms of Service.
1. Prohibited uses
You may not ask us to build, or use our deliverables, to:
- break any law or regulation, including data protection, privacy, consumer protection, intellectual property, computer misuse and anti-spam laws;
- access systems, accounts or data without authorisation, including bypassing logins, paywalls, CAPTCHAs or other access controls where doing so is unlawful;
- overload, disrupt or damage a website or service, including denial-of-service attacks;
- collect special-category or sensitive personal data, or data about children, without a clear lawful basis and agreed safeguards;
- stalk, harass, profile or discriminate against individuals, or track people in ways they would not reasonably expect;
- send unsolicited bulk messages in breach of anti-spam laws, or ignore opt-out requests;
- commit fraud, phishing, identity theft, fake reviews, fake engagement or other deceptive practices;
- infringe copyrights, trademarks or other rights, including republishing protected content without permission;
- create or spread malware, or evade security or law-enforcement measures; or
- support activities that are illegal, violent, exploitative or that violate sanctions.
2. Use of our website
You may not attempt to break into, overload or disrupt bigibyte.com, submit spam or malicious content through our forms, or misrepresent your identity when contacting us.
3. What we may do
We review projects before we start. We may ask questions about your intended use, decline a project, pause or stop work, or disable hosted tools if we reasonably believe this policy is being breached. Where required, we may report unlawful activity to the relevant authorities.
4. Reporting concerns
If you believe a tool or dataset connected to BigiByte is being misused, email info@bigibyte.com. We take every report seriously.
