10M Local Businesses
A local business list is the name, phone, website, and rating of the shops in a place. This project gathered 10 million US businesses from public listings on Google Maps and on directories such as Yelp and Yellow Pages. The same steps can run again for a new city or a new kind of business.
10M Local Businesses ↗- Customer: A sales team or a local marketer who needs every shop of one type in a place.
- Problem: The listings sit on maps and directories, and a person cannot collect a country of them.
- Solution: 10 million US businesses from Google Maps, Yelp, Yellow Pages, and other public directories, kept once.
- Outcome: Each row can hold the name, phone, website, rating, and a public email. The same flow can run again.
- Strategic win: A new city does not start from zero.
The shops are public. The list is not.
Sales teams and local marketers need every dentist, roofer, or cafe in a city. The listings are spread across maps and directories, and a person cannot collect a country of them.
Why it was hard
Copying shops by hand from a map works for one street. It does not work for a country, and the next niche means starting over.
- The same shop can appear on a map and on two directories
- A phone or a website is missing on plenty of listings
- A rating filter is hard to apply after the list is already messy
- A one-time export does not help next month, when new shops open
What you get
- ✓Business name, address, phone, and website
- ✓Category, rating, and review count
- ✓A public email when the listing shows one
- ✓Duplicates removed when the same shop appears in more than one source
- ✓A spreadsheet you can open, or a sheet the flow fills on a schedule
Many directories, one row per shop
The list pulls public listings from Google Maps and from directories such as Yelp and Yellow Pages. The same shop is kept once. What remains is a name, a place, a phone, a website, and a rating.

A caller needs the phone. A mail or outreach list needs the website and a public email when one is listed. A rating lets you keep the stronger shops and set the rest aside.

The steps are saved, so a new city or a new kind of business does not start from zero. A schedule can search, keep ratings above a line you choose, check public emails, and drop the rows into a sheet with a note to the team.

Google Maps, Yelp, Yellow Pages, and other public directories feed one list. The flow can repeat for the next city.
The pictures are samples of the saved flow and of one city search. The small count printed on the sample screen is not the full set. The 10 million figure is the US business set from this project.
